I grew up and still currently live in Colchester, Essex. I first got into dance music when I was about 16! The first album I purchased was by 2Unlimited. From this and various other dance albums / compilations I made a natural progression into commercial dance music and RnB. When I was 18 my musical direction changed into a more underground dance scene where I found myself listening to various types of house music such as dirty, funky and electro house as well as hard dance, trance and hardcore. Currently my favourite DJ's / acts are Luciana, Dave Spoon, Tiesto, Darren Styles, Freemasons, Bodyrox, Trophy Twins, Hoxton Whores, Armand Van Helden, Fedde le Grant and Wideboys. I DJ all genres of music from garage to indie and hip-hop to dance.
I started DJing in 2005 using a laptop with DJing software. Being a computer engineer this was a winning combination for me. I now have specialist decks which connect via the computer and external hard disk drives to store my music files. Since DJing using mp3 files without the use and inconvenience of CD's I have never looked back. Many bars and clubs are now adopting this technique because of the convenience of this method.
Thus far in my DJing career I occasionally DJ at a hotel in Basildon, Essex as well as having performed a 15 minute dirty house set at a bar/club in Sudbury, Essex which was sponsored by Kiss 105-108. I also run my own radio show for 2 hours a week called Sunday Session on houseofdance.net. As well as DJing for the University of Essex in all their venues such as the Students Union bar, top bar, level 2 bar / club and the massive 1200 capacity Sub Zero club (formally The Underground).
