HOW DO YOU BROADCAST RECORDINGS

Hi there,first time in forum,seeking advice on best way to broadcast recordings to friends .who arent members Ive tried to broadcast from my laptop im given address but need to no if there any settings in laptop and router that need configuring, i dont want to broadcast on virtual dj radio yet,just to a few friends just until i get the hang of package, im using vista home,norton firewall,and wireless connection to netgear router DG834T. any ideas.Thanks
