What has rap music became...?

As being a strong supported of hip hop in the community here, i like the more gangsta side of rap, and hip hop. The Wu-tang Clan, Jadakiss, Dipset, Nipsey Hussle, Ya Boy, etc... but the change from the 1990's, early 2000's into this disco almost kind of hip hop... well its ok, i listen to it not going to lie, but personally im more of fan of the gangsta side of music, although some of todays major hits are good also, and the club style of hip hop its all good, just I, ME, DIZZLE would like to see more rappers making music like it was in the 1990's and early 2000's before Before everyone and they cousin could get a single, the Soulja Boys mostly, although I do like Soulja Boy's - Turn My Swag on song I just think that Rap should morph its way back into the old school era.

I see what you mean. I use to listen to rap music ALOT more during the late 90's to the early 2000's. As I got older I gravitated more towards the old school songs from the newborn stages of hip-hop till the early 90's. And including some of the early 2000's hip-hop aslo.

Now I don't really listen  rap as much as I use too and that's because IN MY OPINION I just don't find anyone original these days. Musical styles are always changing, but I agree with you I think  the mainstream hip-hop scene should go back into time to what it use to be. The hip hop industry needs someone original yet someone that will stand out and have that authenticity that the old school hip-hop tracks have.

I miss the days when hip-hop/rap was REAL hip-hop/rap.  not this kiddie bubble gum crap that is popular now.  granted there are a few that aren't going the way of kiddie but they are still not like they used to be.  I personally wish that someone would slap Soulja Boy out of his Gucci shoes and tell him to stick to producing cause hit beats are good....vocals on the other hand......well lets just leave it at that.  Jadakiss / The Lox, Snoop, Dre, Wu Tang, Method Man, Redman, Ghostface Killa, Rza (their solo albums) all great back in the day....now its just sellout mainstream kiddie crap.  but thats just my personal opinion.

I hope someone from a record label reads this and actually takes note, cause I agree with both of you, rap/hip-hop music should revert back to its origins (hell if they go back to the Run DMC days I will be happy, lol)
